This London attraction is based on the bank of the River Thames, near Waterloo Station and it is a spectacle worth a visit. It is considered the biggest observation wheel in the world, and that’s why it’s called the London Eye. It will, over 30 minutes, make a full circle and give you a splendid view of London. It towers 135 meters over the Thames River and weighs 2,100 tonnes. If you’re lucky and the sky is clear, you will have a 25-mile panoramic view.

Halloween was started by the Celts, who celebrated their New Year on November 1st. A festival was held the evening before, October 31st, in honor of their Celtic lord of death, Samhaim. This marked the beginning of a season associated with human death.

Nowadays it’s a children’s holiday where children get dressed up and go door to door asking for candy.

We are starting an English Club in Escola Secundária Luis de Freitas Branco, in Paço de Arcos. We would like to count on you for support and suggestions to develop it and help you improve your English.

So, please submit comments and suggestions and come to the club in classroom 21, building B, on Mondays, from 4pm to 5.30 pm and Thursdays, from 8.45pm to 10.15 pm.
